'Back with a very pertinent impertinence' The Herald
Bribes, mis-directed contracts, mis-allocation of public money, fiddled expenses. Panic. Sound familiar?
Gerry Mulgrew directs this feisty adaptation of Nikolai Gogol’s classic satire on bureaucracy and human vanity. A penniless nobody from the big city arrives in a small town, where he is mistaken for the all-powerful government inspector by its corrupt and self-serving officials. In this age of abuses of office, banking crises and duck islands, The Government Inspector's hilarious and vicious expose of those in (petty) power is more timely as ever.
One of Scotland ’s most respected and trailblazing theatre companies, Communicado presents this piece with all its well known brio and musical invention in a co-production with the Tron Theatre. A swinging, fast-paced, very black comedy featuring a cast of ten performers, with live music.
